Enhancing Quality of Life Through Person-Centered Services is an 8-hour online on-demand professional development workshop designed to strengthen the role of therapeutic recreation professionals, activity professionals, and allied health professionals in advancing person-centered service delivery. The workshop focuses on how professionals can move beyond task-based programming and attendance-driven services toward individualized, meaningful, outcome-focused services that promote dignity, choice, autonomy, inclusion, engagement, and quality of life.
Participants examine how person-centered services contribute to the advancement of the therapeutic recreation and activity profession by improving professional practice, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration, supporting ethical service delivery, enhancing documentation, and promoting meaningful outcomes for individuals receiving care or services. The course emphasizes that quality of life is influenced by how well professionals understand the whole person, honor personal preferences, adapt services, support independence, respect culture and identity, and document outcomes that show professional value.
